Grandpa, I’m in trouble … Mom’s gonna kill me!
If you have a 15 yr. old daughter or granddaughter, you can probably imagine the thoughts and feelings that went through my mind right at that moment. Anger, Frustration, Sorrow - an urge to kill the SOB when I found out who he was – and yeah, disappointment in her too. After all, this was my girl, my baby. Her parents had divorced when she was five, and I’d always been there for her … a father figure, Grandpa, and best friend all rolled into one. She was scared, but she knew she could count on me. I took her in my arms and held her.
When she stopped crying, I asked if she was ready to talk about it …. Folks, for a minute there I felt like taking my belt off and busting her butt. I was angry and thrilled at the same time. She wasn’t pregnant – she had charged almost $1,000 on her mom’s credit card for some “get rich” plan on Facebook.
What would you do?
What I did was give her another long hug, and a short lecture about
- using her mom’s card for anything except an emergency
- and lying about her age in order to use that card ….
and then I tried to call and get the money back, but they were closed. Since I had to wait till tomorrow, (and didn’t know if I could get a refund), I figured I might as well see what ‘I‘ had bought – so off to the ‘stinking’ computer we went.
I say ‘stinking‘ computer, because I’ve had a long relationship with them, and they’ve never quite wanted to cooperate with me. When I got out of the Navy, I was convinced that computers were the wave of the future – where the money would be. So I went to school and got a degree in Programming, IBM 360/ hard-wired boards/ keypunch data cards/ and COBOL …. ah those were the days, I was on my way to the big money.
It was 1974, and my first three job offers were in the basements of banks … I’m a SEAL (inactive - Team 2) Vietnam was still with me, and there was no way you were gonna stick me in a hole like that – somebody would get hurt. So – a lot of time and money wasted … I took a job pumping gas for just over minimum wage …. something like $2.15 an hour.
But I’ve mellowed out a lot since those days, and I didn’t pump gas for long. In fact, I retired in 1998 at the age of 48 … and really enjoyed the next ten years of ‘freedom’ … but there’s only so many horses and Harley’s you can ride. I had said from way back when – that a man should retire until he was 60, and then go to work - when he was too old to do anything else. Of course, that was when I was 20, and 60 seemed to be a long way off ….. I’ve discovered that it sneaks up on you pretty fast.
That was just over a year ago. Needless to say, I paid for the course and went through it with my granddaughter. I was skeptical, but after a few weeks, and a few dollars rolling in – I admit, I was hooked ….. and it just keeps getting better.
So if you’re still new to making money on the web … bookmark this site – sign up for updates – write this URL on the back of your hand … do something to find your way back here … because you don’t want to miss what’s happened in the last few months ……. I’ve spent quite a bit of money getting to where I am now – but you won’t have to. Take advantage of what I’ve learned (and what I’m still learning) … No Charge.
We all have dreams ….. let me help you make yours come true.
Keep Smilin …

Wow,
That’s a story… I’ve got boys ages 10 and 14.
Cheers,
Rob
Thanks Rob, Take care of the boys, and spend as much time with them as you can … they seem to grow up a lot faster these days. I’ve been watching you, you’re doing a good job. Don’t forget that your main students – the two at home – are about to figure out that they already know more than you do LOL
Hi,
Very interesting.
I’m writing my first book (about immigrants) and I know that your style of writing has touched something within me (something that tells me I can learn from you/it).
What did Arnold say? . . . I’ll Be Back!
Kelwyn,
Thanks for dropping by (and the kind comment), keep me updated on the book – I’d like to read it.

Mike
An interesting introduction, albeit unwillingly, to the world of IM but makes for an interesting story and I look forward to following your journey with us fellow students on MWA2.0.
To our success….
Tom
Hi Mike.
Great story.
I think you dealt with that situation really well and you probably felt better for it. Especially as it has paid off for you. Way to go Mike.
I am just Starting out online so any tips would be a great help.
Well done Mike and good luck to you, you deserve it.
Regards.
Ron
Hey Mike!
What a wonderful story! I laughed and even teared up. You just never know where life will take you, do you?
I wish you all the best. Your grand daughter is one lucky young lady!
Lesley
Mike,
That was a great story and had me gripped!,you have a great writing style.
Valubale lesson there, INternet Marketing is addictive, but also can pay back a good lifestyle.
Look forward to more of what you have share.
Talk soon
Sean
You’re right Sean, Internet Marketing (the right way) is addictive, but that’s because it’s both fun and profitable … when done right.
Thanks for the comments

Hi Mike
I agree that is quite a quite a story. I have a 15 year old granddaughter myself. So far she seems to have a pretty good head on her shoulders. I hope it stays that way, I just love her to death.
Congrats on your successes in life, I hope this one turns out to be another one for you.
Hope to see you around.
Norm
You have my sympathy… Just Kidding … I hope she’s close enough that you can spend time with her every couple a weeks.
What else is a couple old geezers like us got to do. LOL
I was looking for something today, and ran across some pictures of me taking mine for her first motorcycle ride – she was four. Her mom wanted to kill me when she found out, but I figure turn about’s fair play … I sure wanted to pinch her head off a few times when she was growing up ;-)
Mike,
Excellent story! I love the interweaving of events, both past and present that you brought together so skillfully.
You will definitely be someone I’ll be watching, going forward. Very entertaining!
Thanks,
Mike
Thanks Mike, I wish you all the best
Mike
Dear Mike,
A not so funny story with a good ending, and a nice twist. Now we are curious (at least me) as to what the course was?
But, maybe I need to read further.
Evan, thanks for dropping by. Your question is one that I had hoped to have answered a month ago – but things don’t always work out the way we plan them. At any rate, I’m slowly getting the kinks worked out and hope to be back full force quickly.
What I started out with was a combination RR and PLR package, from two people who are pretty well known on the web. I don’t mention names, because although the pkg. was all it claimed, I wouldn’t advise anyone ….
Hey Evan, this deserves a better answer than I can fit in here, so if you don’t mind … check the site tomorrow
